Cultivating Curiosity: A Taste of Wisconsin’s Perennial Crops
April is earth month, which means that the University of Wisconsin-Madison is hosting a two-week even full of free workshops and lectures for students, staff, and members of the community to join. Earth Fest brings together all things environment and sustainability and unites our campus over the one resource and interest we all share: our earth. Earth Fest will start on April 21, and end on April 29, 2025.
Join the Department of Food Science, Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences, and the Savanna Institute in Cultivating Curiosity: A Taste of Wisconsin’s Perennial Crops. Attendees will learn about perennial food crops grown in Wisconsin for food, sustainability, and health. There will be free samples of perennial crops grown in Wisconsin to try. Crops will include hazelnuts, aronia berry, black currant, honeyberry, elderberry, and/or kernza.
This outdoor workshop will be hosted at the Allen Centennial Garden, 620 Babcock Drive, Madison, WI, on April 24, 2025 from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
