WiSys SPARK Symposium

The WiSys SPARK Symposium is where research, innovation, and entrepreneurship collide. The annual event brings together the best and brightest faculty, staff, students, and alumni from across the Universities of Wisconsin to network, collaborate, and celebrate great ideas.

The symposium was held from July 23-25, 2025 at the Monona Terrance Community and Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

WiSys recognized Innovation Champions, who are leaders in their community that have played an integral role in innovation. The Department of Food Science was thrilled to announce that Dr. Bradley Bolling was one of the Champions for his leadership of the use-inspired R&D driver of the Forward Agriculture initiative.

Furthermore, over 100 undergraduate and graduate students presented their research findings and innovations during the conference. Luis McDougall, and undergraduate in Dr. Gulustan Ozturk’s lab, won second place in the poster competition.

Congratulations to all of the winners of the events!
