Bio
Hi! My name is Aly Farrar and I am a sophomore in the food science program. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin 30-40 minutes away from Madison. My favorite food is sushi and apples.
I am currently the Outreach Chair for the Food Science club, a food science ambassador, and an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Hartel’s Lab. I didn’t know a lot about food science until the spring before my freshman year of college, but after meeting people in the program and learning about the opportunities available I knew that it was the right program for me. I have really enjoyed my time so far in the program and have learned so much from professors, postdocs, undergraduate students, and graduate students. It is such a welcoming environment and all of the faculty are excellent. I’m very excited to see what the next couple years have in store!
