Cheese Expo

University of Wisconsin-Madison Staff and Students at Cheese Expo 2024

The Cheese Expo: Global Technology for Dairy Processors, was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 to Thursday, April 18, 2024. During this two day event, participants network, evaluate dairy products, listen to keynote speakers and more. This event works closely with the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association and the Center for Dairy Research.

At 9 A.M., there was a Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contests, where students from across the country gather to evaluate dairy products. The winner is awarded the title of Collegiate Champion. This years Collegiate Champion is the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s very own Caden Bramstedt, an undergraduate in Food Science.

Caden Bramstedt Winner of Milk Judging

While UW-Madison was not able to participate in any team events, since there were only two students this year (four people needed for a team), in the individual events, they did excellent work. As noted above, Bramstedt was awarded first place in the milk judging event. Close behind in 4th place for milk, was UW undergraduate, Ben Tirtawiguna.
