Biographical Sketch
Beth Button is an Instructional Specialist with the Department of Food Science at the University of Wis. - Madison. Since July of 2004, she has assisted professors with labs and activities necessary for undergraduate instruction. She investigates new instructional methods and experiments for use in classes. She also has helped organize high school student visits and laboratory needs for extension short courses.
Beth worked as a research manager and a scientist with Kraft Foods for seventeen years prior to joining the University. She gained experience in research management, food analysis, the food service industry, and the meat industry. She has been a member of several professional organizations including IFT.
She has a Masters Degree from Iowa State University in Meat Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science - Natural Science option from the Univ. of Wis. Madison. She is currently learning more about teaching techniques and has had several industry short courses on a variety of topics.
Beth’s other interests include caring for her family, archery, and gardening.
